Operant Conditioning Training Method
Dogs learn through rewards and consequences, adding and removing something the dog loves or loathes, after the use of marker words and signals. This method develops an understanding between the behavior and the consequences of the behavior.
+R | Positive Reinforcement
Adding something the dog values (treats, praise, love and toys) to increase the likelihood of the behavior to continue.
-R| Negative Reinforcement
Removing something aversive – something the dog doesn’t like (leash pressure) to increase the likelihood of the behavior to continue.
+P | Positive Punishment
Adding something the dog doesn’t like (spray bottle) to decrease the likelihood of the behavior to continue.
-P | Negative Punishment
Removing something the dog values (treats, praise, love, toys) to decrease the likelihood of the behavior to continue.

Ms. Dawn
Being from Maine where the pet population is controlled, the move here to Houston, TX was disheartening and eye-opening. I have witnessed and heard of dogs being dumped, thrown out windows, left outside tied up to endure the Texas heat without water or shelter, left in garages and back yards all day destroying property, and wildly misunderstood and mistreated. I then decided to leave the world of education and healthcare to provide local families with the essential tools and techniques needed to have a well-behaved, calm and confident member of the family!
My mission is to educate families to help build a foundation of strong communication and obedience, so more pups won’t end up on the streets or in shelters.
Once a family learns how obedient their dog can be, they can let go of the fear that makes them want to rehome. It’s my hope that doing my small part can help one dog and one family at a time.,
